API Tank Inspection

Storage tanks fail in slow, predictable ways — floor plate corrosion, shell thinning, settlement, and roof and appurtenance deterioration. API 653 exists because each of those needs looking at on a different interval, with a different method.

In-service and out-of-service scope

An in-service external inspection covers shell, external coating, foundation, appurtenances and visible settlement without taking the tank out of operation. An out-of-service internal inspection additionally covers floor plate condition, which is where most integrity risk actually sits.

Positioning on our scope

We perform inspection, measurement and condition assessment aligned to API 653 methodology and report findings against it. Where a formal API-certified inspector's stamp or a statutory German tank certification is required, we will tell you plainly and coordinate with the appropriate certified body rather than overstate our scope.
