A welder certificate proves the welder was competent under test conditions on a particular day. It does not prove that this weld, on this joint, meets the acceptance criteria of your specification. Only inspection does that.
Before the arc is struck
We review the welding procedure specification and its supporting procedure qualification record, verify that welder qualifications are valid and actually cover the joint configuration in production, and confirm consumable control, material traceability, joint preparation and preheat requirements.
Independent of the fabricator
Our inspectors work independently of the shop, so there is no tension between getting the job finished and getting it finished correctly. Non-conformances are raised the day they are found, not batched into a final report when the schedule has already moved on.
