Technical Auditing

A technical audit differs from a system audit in what it examines. A system audit asks whether procedures exist and are followed. A technical audit asks whether the process is actually capable of producing conforming work — which is a question about equipment, competence and process control, not paperwork.

What a technical audit examines

Welding coordination and responsible welding coordinator competence, NDT capability and personnel certification, calibration and measurement traceability, special process control, material handling and identification, and the practical handling of non-conformity.

Findings you can act on

Every finding is stated with the objective evidence it rests on, classified by significance, and paired with the requirement it fails against. Where a finding is a matter of risk rather than non-compliance, we say so — an audit that inflates observations into non-conformities is not useful to anyone.
